I think the Bush plans for a REVIVALIST EVANGELICAL STYLE ATTACK on Social Security will fall flat. And it could even look Ridiculous before it's over!
These Staged Events and Tearful Testimonials just won't cut it on Social Security Reform.
Bush appears to think that he can "do" Social Security the way he "did" gays and abortion with the church folks. But, I don't think so. To many of them are ON Social Security!
And polling data says that most Americans are concerned about the war, jobs and the economy. NOT Social Security Reform!
Only a tiny fraction even mention Social Security. Frankly, I don't think Dubya can lead the evangelicals someplace they don't already want to go.
