Unions played a big part in the 20th Century in getting working conditions right...and making conditions ripe for an American Middle Class in the 20th Century...
But at some point Unions abandon their SOCIAL FUNCTION...and became as greedy as the corporations they fought against...
The ultimate victims where the public in general....
Today's Unions need to be scaled back...especially public sector unions...to basic fairness in compensation and benefits...
Arbitration needs to replace the threat of strikes...this is key...
And wage and benefit gains should not come at the public expense...this may not be "free market"...
But when the strike is used as a weapon against a company...or a community...its no different that a gun used in a robbery...
ITS TIME TO REWRITE THE LAWS CONCERNING UNION POWER...TO CONSIDER NOT JUST THE COMPANY AND THE WORKERS INTERESTS...BUT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AS WELL
