Anyone watching the Sunday Talks could not help noticing that the War with Iran has now taken on the aura of inevitability...!
Clearly the Republicans need a "new war" to distract attention from the "old war" and enhance Republican chances of holding on to their K-Street Kongress.
The ultimatim game that Condi, etal, are playing reminds me of the "deal" they gave to Slobo just before the bombing started in Serbia... And it also has the same tone as the ultimatim that was given Saddam and his sons just before the invasion.
A NEW WAR IS ON TAP FOR THIS SUMMER...
Clearly, the Israeli Lobby wants Iran taken out... And Rummy is still being very aggressive...despite the disaster in Iraq. And there was the grim warning that Dubya wants to "do this" Iran deal on his watch...and not pass it on to the "next President" who likely won't follow up on it. Sort of a 2+2=? Ya suppose...?
The best time to start the war would be around Labor Day...that gives Dubya & Co two months of flag-waving before the elections...
And likely the opposition wouldn't kick in during the first few months of the conflict...giving Republicans ample opportunity to hold on to both Houses of Congress.
Very likely this war will be confined to bombing various military sites in Iran for several months. Sort of a no-fly zone approach...as happen with Iraq.
The only way Dubya invades Iran is if Iran Invades Iraq...from the Shia south...
And then, as they say, it gets "interesting!"
