Mr. Sharon's behavior of late indicates that he has something on his
mind. Everytime "peace is at hand" SOMETHING HAPPENS. Wassupwitdat?
WELL, IT'S PROBABLY ABOUT THE COMING BATTLE FOR TEMPLE MOUNT.
Most American's know nothing about the Temple Mount controvery, but
each and every geo-political shift in the Israel-Palestine war has
involved the Temple Mount in one way or another.
First, some history. The Temple Mount is under the control of the
Arabs. It currently has the Dome of the Rock Mosque on it. But it
was previously the site of Solomon's Temple, the "First Temple" of
the Jewish people.
The Second Temple was built in the Roman Period, and was destroyed in
70 AD. The Romans used the Temple Mount to set up statues of their
emperors, and of Zeus, and other Gods after the destruction of the
Second Temple.
EVER SINCE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL IN 1948 THERE HAS BEEN A
MOVEMENT TO ESTABLISH THE "THIRD TEMPLE" ON TEMPLE MOUNT.
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE ARAB DOME OF THE ROCK?
Well, some Jews are hopeing that a "divine earthquake" will destroy
the Dome of the Rock and Jews can then rebuild the Temple. Others
want to move the Dome of the Rock to Mecca and re-build the Temple
that way.
Still others want to take the Temple Mount by force and destroy the
Muslim holy places, and rebuild the Jewish Temple by conquest, as it
were. Many Born again Christians are involved in the "Third Temple
Movement" in the US.
MY FEELING IS THAT SHARON AND THE LIKUD ARE PREPARING TO TAKE THE
TEMPLE MOUNT BY FORCE THIS SUMMER. PERHAPS AROUND JULY AND AUGUST.
THAT'S WHY THERE IS AN ESCALATION OF VIOLENCE NOW. ANY MOVE TO TAKE
THE TEMPLE MOUNT WILL CAUSE A HUGE PROTEST IN THE MUSLIM
WORLD.
But, time is running out for the Likud and the Third Temple backers.
If Dubya is not re-elected, it is very possible that the Kerry
administration will insist on an INTERNATIONAL SETTLEMENT of the West
Bank, Gaza and the Temple Mount issues.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT SHARON AND THE THIRD TEMPLE SUPPORTERS DO NOT
WANT.
THIS CRISIS COULD BE COMING TO A CLIMAX SOON.
DOES THE BATTLE FOR TEMPLE MOUNT LOOM?
