Geo. Bush has hitched his wagon to some dubious things.
For the most part Dubya's presidency has been nothing but excuses and
more excuses.
He is never at fault for anything. And, this state of
constant denial is really quite in character for a spoiled rich kid, who expects "the help" not to question his actions, no matter what.
I'M OK! THE WORLD'S WRONG! OTHER PEOPLE ARE AT FAULT, NOT ME! THAT'S WHAT BUSH CONSTANTLY TELLS HIS FOLLOWERS.
AND TO COVER FOR HIS INCOMPETENCE DUBYA HAS "ISSUES!"
MOSTLY BOGUS ISSUES, LIKE GAY MARRIAGE, ABORTION, AND SUPPORT FOR "SMALL BUSINESS."
Yet everyone knows that it's not taxes that are killing small
business in the US; IT'S HEALTH CARE AND INSURANCE COSTS!
Everyone knows that gay marriage and abortion are not the major things wrong with America today.
Indeed, health care is killing off big business as well as small business, but at least BIG BUSINESS can "off-shore" jobs to avoid the problem.
BUSH SEEMS TO BE RELYING ALMOST TOTALLY ON WHAT I CALL THE SUBURBAN "WHITE ZOMBIE" VOTE TO WIN HIS SECOND TERM.
WHITE ZOMBIES are people like NASCAR dads, security moms and others
who SIMPLY vote Republican----BY DEFAULT!
THEY REALLY CAN'T EXPLAIN THEIR VOTE. AND THAT'S WHY THEY ARE SO HARD TO EVALUATE. THE ISSUES DON'T REALLY MATTER TO THESE PEOPLE.
MANY OF THEM WILL CITE "VALUES" OR "MORALS" OR "RELIGION" AS THEIR
REASONS FOR VOTING REPUBLICAN;
EVEN IF THE POLICIES OF THIS ADMINISTRATION HAVE BEEN A DISASTER FOR THEM ON EVERY COUNT.
What most of these people are really saying is that voting Republican
is the WHITE THING TO DO.
EVEN IF THEIR VOTE IS NOT RATIONAL, STRICTLY BASED ON THE ISSUES AND THE OUTCOMES.
MOST OF THESE "WHITE ZOMBIES" DON'T REALLY FOLLOW PUBLIC POLICY TO CLOSELY;
THEY JUST WANT TO "VOTE WHITE" AND THUS, BE ACCEPTED IN THEIR COMMUNITY AND GET ON WITH THEIR LIVES AS BEST THEY CAN.
And, they really, really don't want to be in the same party as Jesse or Al, or the Hollywood Gays, or the college intellectuals and liberal egg heads;
THIS IS REALLY THE DIRTY LITTLE SECRET BEHIND: WHY KERRY "CAN'T CONNECT" WITH THESE FOLKS.
KERRY, INDEED ANY DEMOCRAT, COULD NEVER CONNECT WITH THE SUBURBAN WHITE ZOMBIE VOTER. At least not yet, things haven't really hit bottom yet.
Perhaps, this same thing happen in the 1920's when the working classes were suffering mightily; but it WAS only in the 1930's when "the suburbs" and middle classes where also suffering THAT REAL CHANGE WAS FINALLY POSSIBLE.
The really sad part is that most of the "zombie vote" is NOW suffering because of their shocking ignorance. Is Kerry "too early?" Well, perhaps, but the downtrend is clear for the middle class.
Surely the white suburbanites don't benefit from the Bush Incompetence;
The deficits, the tax policy, the corporate looting, the wars, the failure to engage on health care and on jobs.
WHY DO THEY CONTINUE TO AUTOMATICALLY VOTE REPUBLICAN?
WHY DO THEY ACCEPT THE INCOMPETENCE AND THE BOGUS ISSUES OF THE
REPUBLICANS, AND THE SPECIAL INTERESTS THAT NOW LOOT OUR ECONOMY?
SADDLY, FOR MANY OF THESE PEOPLE IT'S:
WE'RE WHITE. AND VOTING REPUBLICAN IS WHAT WHITE FOLKS LIKE US DO!
Deny it if you want. But, you know that it "explains" a lot about the how American elections work these days......
How bad does it have to get before Republicans start to lose
the "zombie vote?"
Who knows.....blood is thicker than money apparently. And that's
what the polls and the pundits seem to be missing in this election.
WHEN WILL THE MIDDLE CLASS DECIDE IT'S TIME TO "VOTE BLACK" AGAIN?
Not 2000. Perhaps in 2004. But almost definitely in 2008!
