The notion that anti-inflamatory drugs can "cause" heart disease is very curious, since many feel that heart disease is really an inflamation of the coronary arteries. What gives?
My hunch is that heart disease is really a UNIQUE DISEASE of the coronary artery wall, as yet undescribed, and that the inflamation is merely a symptom, NOT THE CAUSE of the problems.
So, when you reduce the body's natural "curative" defense mechanism of inflamatory reaction---the real disease---probably an auto-immune disfunction uniquely effecting the arterial wall----runs rampant! Although this unseen disease could be viral in nature, or even caused by some agent as yet undesribed in science; as mad-cow once was.
Thus a heart attack ensues.
So, is cholesterol merely the "firemen at the fire," or is it the "cause" of heart disease?
I say cholesterol is merely "present at the scene of the crime," but is totally innocent of causing the problem.
This is not to say that mildly reducing these symptoms, with anti-inflamatories and chloesterol lowering medicine doesnt help-- in some later stage cases.
But it is not a "cure" to merely treat the symptoms, and not the real disease.
The key lays in the study of the unique lining of the coronary artery. There is a seperate disease at work here, that is as yet unrecognized, as we obsessively treat cholesterol and inflamation.
As to obesity and heart disease? It's possible that the very act of "eating" and digesting food is an inflamatory process that damages the body through oxidation, or "burning" excess calories.
That's probably why the "starvation diet" is the only sure way to longevity!
The point being?
WE ARE WASTING A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY TREATING THE SYMPTOMS AND NOT THE REAL PROBLEM---WHICH IS PROBABLY THE GENETIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCES THAT CAUSE ARTERY WALLS TO BECOME DISEASED.
IN SHORT, IT'S NOT WHAT YOU EAT!
OBESITY AND CHOLESTEROL AND INFLAMATION ARE MERELY SYMPTOMS, LIKE SPOTS ON A KID WITH MEASLES.
WHAT REALLY MATTERS IS:
HOW LUCKY YOU ARE IN AVOIDING THIS AS YET UN-KNOWN AND UNIQUE DISEASE OF THE ARTERY WALL;
MAYBE SOMEDAY WE WON'T HAVE TO RELY ON "JUST LUCK!"
MEANWHILE BIG PHARMA CONTINUES PUSHING DRUGS THAT "DON'T WORK," OR ARE NOW FOUND TO BE OUTRIGHT DANGEROUS!
