Can "Mushroom Cloud" Condi really replace Colin at the State Department?
I have some doubts.....
Consider the way Condi handled herself during the various and sundry catastrophes of the first Bush term.
She is often---near hysterical when cornered or confronted.
She can't handle sharp criticism, and roll with the punches like Colin could. Colin would always land on his feet; Condi can't take a punch.
She tends to babble on and on and on....basically just repeating herself when pushed,.....but usually sticking with the recieved "message of the day."
She can't give a nuanced answer, so she simply repeats the stuff that Cheney and Wolfie told her to say. Over and over again.
Colin got sick of carrying water for the Neocons. But alas, not until he was totally damaged goods after his Big Lie at the UN; which he will never live down.
Remember Colin's pictures of "Saddam's Poison Gas Factories"?
(Oh yeah, you mean....the ones we forgot to bomb for the last twelve years! Yeah, those.. ;-)
And finally, does Condi have the DIPLOMATIC GRAVITAS that is needed to hold sway in foreign capitals that are often hostile to US interests?
And has she ever managed anything bigger than a word processor?
I don't see it.....Condi looks good on paper. She's totally PC to most Americans.
But her portfolio is to go man-to-man with a bunch of foreigners, who think the US is already on the ropes because of Dubya's big policy mistakes.
Most foreign diplomats think there is blood in the water now for Neocon geo-political policy.
And Condi is quickly going to find out that just throwing a hissy fit won't cut it over-seas. Even if it did pass on Meet the Press....
