SPIN IS IN FOR 2005!
This could be the Year of the Spin Doctor. Spin is In in 2005.
Well, of course, spin is always in on Wall Street. But this time it's really important because the underlying numbers are going to be weak to horrid, so the only recourse is even MORE SPIN.
For example, the OIL PRICE at the open of the market seems to be good for 50 points plus or minus on the Dow.
So remember folks it's ALWAYS GETTING WARMER on The Street this winter; and hey, if winter comes can spring be far behind? Spin. Spin. Spin.
Dubya's second term agenda seems dedicated TOTALLY TO TORT REFORM. The so-called EVIL LAWYERS SCENARIO. Or, "Lawyer Bashing" which is always acceptable at the bar stool level of politics.
But then, Wall Street truly believes that corporate fraud is a "victimless crime!" After all it's the CEOs money, not the stockholders! And remember the Cult of the CEO stole the money in the first place so it's really theirs to spend in any way they choose.
No one has noticed that Law Suits are merely a tiny fraction of a percent of the real costs of doing business! Nevermind. Spin. Spin. Spin.
Everyone knows Social Secuity reform will be DOA at the opening of Kongress. Perhaps some minor nips and tucks around the edges is possible. But hey, four more years of spin, spin, spin.
And "Tax Simplification" which allows the rich to get richer and the poor to pay more taxes is the other BIG GOAL of Dubya & Co.
The Flat Tax has never had any real support, and it could never stand up to the harsh light of day in our news cycle. But nevermind just spin, spin, spin.
My Advise to Dubya for his second term?
GO BACK TO SOMETHING YOU KNOW. LIKE GAY BASHING!
