And so it goes....American Companies seem to be "losing it" globally these days. And our "four more years" of Dubya & Co are just starting.
"Stupid Chic" just doesn't translate well from "Texan" to the other
world languages!
It should also be noted that the strong suit for American Business in the past has been the power of it's BRANDS. And to a great extent American Companies have only their FORMER GOOD NAMES to bank on.
All other advantages of cost, education, creativity, stable government and currency are gone!
I fear that "American Business" is soon going to be reduced to a "gummed label" on a box from China! No wonder US job growth is so punk! It's not the news that counts, it's the trend. And nearly everything worth having in global business is migrating out of the US.
Really all we have left in the US is:
THE AMERICAN CONSUMER: IN DEBT, UNDER-EDUCATED AND/OR UNDER-EMPLOYED AND OFTEN POORLY PAID.
Alas, that is a thin reed on which to base the future.
