DEAN vs. MEHLMAN, reconsidered....
The combination of Howard Dean as Democrat Chairman and Ken Mehlman as Republican Chairman will make for some interesting Sunday Talk Shows!
Mehlman has all of his "SLOGANS" very well memorized....but, I suspect Dr Dean will be able to get him "off topic" sooner or later.
Once you puncture the self -righteous hypocrisy of a Republican and get down to textbook economics and politics....they can't handle it. They simply must stay "on slogan" or they're finished...... Fortunately, for Dubya & Co slogans work very well out in Bubbaland. So far......
The only problem is that after THE SCREAM incident Dean may be a little too polite and hold back a bit, just to show that he really isn't a nut, ........as the AM radio ravers hope.
Still, as time goes by, and Dubya wanders further off into the SWAMP OF SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM and struggles with his TAR BABY IN IRAQ;
And, with further poor jobs and deficet numbers, and the Health Care Crisis totally off the table now........
Eventually, Dean should be able to give Melman an INTELLECTUAL WEDGIE that he will never forget..........! Once Melman is off slogan...he's easy pickens for Dean.
But these days anyone who has the luxury of telling the truth has a great advantage.
And I suspect that even some Republican Bubbas will be open to a little truth telling now that they've put the nation into the soup again.
It is however odd that Brooks would conceed that Democrats have a monopoly on "intelligence" nationwide!
As some posters here have noted that is really an insult to Republicans who are not STUPID.....but merely greedy, or just uninformed about what good government and economics are supposed to do.
And, note well, there are many "educated" people, who are very very apolitical, and for them Republicanism often seems like an appropriate "knee-jerk" choice.....even if it's a disaster in practice and longer term. Republicanism "plays well" at work or at the golf club.
To these people I suggest reading up on the "liberal rich" like Buffet, Gates, Soros and others.....and not joining the pitiful raving Bubbas, or the AM hate-radio "over taxed middle class" who are the ultimate Republican Dupes!
