Tonight's State of the Union will be divided into two parts.
In the first part, Dubya will try to convince the American People that they should let Kenny Boy, Dennis the Menace, and Dickie "take the money and run" Grasso control gobs of Social Security money.
Well, good luck!
But Republicans should remember, that it took more than millionaires to elect Dubya..... trailer park Bubbas had a lot to do with it too.
Frankly this notion that Bubba is going to buy the story that we all have to start plunging into stocks to "save" Social Security 50 years from now is......just nuts!
DUBYA'S PLAN MIGHT HELP MILLIONAIRES, BY PUTTING A FLOOR UNDER STOCK PRICES, BUT IT WON'T HELP ORDINARY PEOPLE.
And Dubya's plan to use THE GENERATIONAL WARFARE CARD is even worse.
First, most younger workers don't even think about "retirement" that's 40 or 50 years off! And they won't be watching the speech tonight.
But the "grown ups" will.
AND, BIG LIE ALERT! BIG LIE ALERT!
JUST AS DUBYA DUPED BUBBA INTO THINKING THAT SADDAM DID 911?
SO TOO, MANY YOUNGER PEOPLE ARE BEING GIVEN THE ENTIRELY FALSE NOTION THAT SOMEHOW THEY WILL PAY LESS PAYROLL TAXES UNDER DUBYA'S PLAN!
AND WORSE, THAT THEY WILL HAVE IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO THIS "TAX CUT" MONEY!
For say,..... partying, clubbing, rock and rap concerts etc.
AND DUBYA WILL REPEAT OVER AND OVER HIS MANTRA: "IT'S YOUR MONEY!"
(Actually only part of it is "your money" most of it is Kenny's, Denny's, and Dickie's money!)
DEMOCRATS HAVE TO GET THE WORD OUT QUICK TO YOUNGER WORKERS THAT THEY ARE GIVING UP THEIR ONLY RETIREMENT "INSURANCE" PLAN;
FOR A RISKY INVESTMENT SCHEME, THAT EVEN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS TOO AFRAID TO TRY!
To wit: putting Kenny, Denny and Dick in charge of large amounts of government money......!
AND, IF THE STOCK MARKET IS SO WONDERFULL---PASS A LAW LETTING THE FEDS PUT 10% OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY MONEY INTO STOCK......
....SHOW ME, DON'T TELL ME.....!
Postscript: And the second part of the State of the Union will be about how happy Iran is with the "new democracy" in Iraq!
They should have a statue of Dubya in both Baghdad and Tehran! And they might......
