It isn't over till it's over in Iraq!
Now the Kurds are trying to muscle into power.... Is it possible that the Kurds could "rule" Iraq from Baghdad? Very unlikely!
This shows the bankruptcy of the entire neocon "democratization" plan.... The only group that could effectively control the TWO OUTLYING FACTIONS....the Shia and the Kurds were the Sunnis! The same group that Dubya seeks to marginalize in the future Iraq!
THE CENTER WILL NEVER BE CONTROLLED FROM THE EDGES... The Shia will never rule in Baghdad and neither will the Kurds. Simply put the center of political gravity in Iraq will have to shift to the south or to the north....
And the differences between the Kurds and the Shia are huge! (Almost as bad as Red State Blue State in the US).
ANY GOVERNMENT THAT IS FORMED BECAUSE OF THE RECENT ELECTION WILL NOT SURVIVE.
DEMOCRACY ONLY WORKS OUT AFTER THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL AGREEMENT ON THE NEED FOR A NATIONAL GOVERNMENT.....
In other words you need a unified nation first....then and only then can you have a democratic government.
What we have in Iraq now is an unstable situation that will spin out of control very quickly. What the Night of the Purple Finger really was was a vote for CIVIL WAR or THE BREAKUP OF IRAQ....
Thats' were this is all heading........not some Neocon LaLa Land of sweetness and light....
