Are men useless....or worse an absolute disadvantage to the survival of the species?
Actually there is some evidence for this being true!
INSECTS!
Insects, "bugs" to Dubya voters, have been around for hundreds of millions of years. Humans on the other hand are relative new comers on the Tree of Life.
OMINOUSLY, MANY SPECIES OF INSECTS HAVE COMPLETELY MARGINALIZED THE ROLE OF THE MALE!
In the case of bees, the male "drone" lays around the hive all summer, until it's time for his "one time" mating flight with the new queen bee.....then, when winter comes, ALL the drones are kicked out of the hive...to die! We see similar patterns in our divorce courts today!
Also, drones do not work! (Right Maureen?) They just lay about the hive in case "something'" needs fertilizing..... All of the honey gathering, cell building and hive clean up is done by the female "worker" bees!
And a similar patter is found in many other insect species.....! Males are really quite useless...except for mating. And I'm sure most of Dowd's readers would agree with this notion...even some men!
So all males take notice:
Straighten up! Because in another 100 million years.....you're probably EXTINCT!
