MUSEUM OF CYBERSPACE

Yes!

Finally something to do with all that old computer junk that is piling up in basements, closets even out in the garage! Auction it off as "antiques." See title link.

Still, I have always thought that there is a need for a MUSEUM OF CYBERSPACE. This Museum would store the digital flotsam and jetsom of cyberspace for future generations.

For example, what did the very first Ebay web page look like? Who remembers the original Yahoo index.html. What about those old search engines.... Alta Visa was the new hottie once.... Then came Google.

All of this "stuff" should be preserved for future generation who may be interested in what "early surfing" was like. These things are the "incunabula" of the Internet and it should not just be erased and copied over when the "backup tapes" are reused! All this should be archieved for future historians.

It sort of reminds me of those Christian monks erasing Aristotle and Who knows whatelse! ....to reuse their scarce "paper" for the newer Christian writings....

Let's not make the same mistake twice!

The Internet and Cyberspace are the New Frontier of Communications. And at least as important as those medieval monks and Guttenburg COMBINED. An archieve of key web pages and web memorabilia of the EARLY INTERENET...should be preserved.

Who knows what "gems" are laying about in homes and offices on "old floppies," just awaiting to be erased.... or tossed into the trash!

TODAY'S JUNK IS TOMORROW'S ANTIQUE AND PRIMARY SOURCE MATERIAL....

THE TIME TO START PRESERVING THIS "NEW ERA" IS NOW.....
