Sending Bolton to "reform" the UN is almost as big a mistake as
sending Bush, the BORN AGAIN FUNDAMENTALIST CHRISTIAN, to "reform" the Fundamentalist Islamic middle east.
In both cases there is the notion of a deep disrespect for the persons and institutions being thus "reformed."
Bolton will be recieved at the UN with all of the enthusiasm of a registered sex offender at a Boy Scout Jamboree.... He will be closely watched and every word and action analysed.
Many of the problems at the UN can be attributed to financial and diplomatic disengagement by the US and the Bush unilateralism.
The UN is, in effect, a low budget operation, trying to do "peace keeping" on the cheap. Maybe Bolton can do something about that....?
