Dubya needs to answer the question...WHAT DID WE "WIN" IN IRAQ...?
Clearly, the "new government" will not be pro-American, or pro-Israel...indeed the war itself made the middle east MORE anti-American and MORE anti-Israel.
Clearly, the US is NOT going to be able to "steal the oil" in Iraq...
Clearly, as long as US troops are in Iraq the Jihadi will try to kill them.
Clearly, the Shia and the Kurds will continue to consolidate their power...and "ethnic cleansing" of the central part of Iraq will continue.
Clearly, the entire middle east is LESS stable now...even with "democracy" in Iraq...than it was before the war.
Clearly, IF ALLOWED to vote...most in the middle east would vote against the US and against Israel.
Clearly, the Neocon dream of a pro-US, pro-Israel government in a nation the size and importance of Iraq was misplaced.
My hunch is that AFTER THE ELECTIONS TOMORROW...Dubya & Co are going to be less justified in continuing the occupation...which has degenerated into merely a support operation for the Shias and the Kurds in their attempt to De-Arabize parts of Iraq...and force the remaining Sunnis, Turkman and Christians out of the country.
What exactly did all those Americans die for...? I just don't see it.
