Israel is a boutique state based on one religious group....that is surrounded by supposed enemies...
The US is not...
So is the Israeli attitude toward the middle east a healthy attitude for Americans to adopt in their approach to mideast policy?
Obviously not!
In fact for the US to assume the Israeli attitude toward middle eastern affairs could be dangerous...
As we are seeing everyday now...
Israel's lashing out at it's enemies is the product of its isolation and a bunker mentality that has been decades in the making.
But, there is no need for Washington to assume the same "diseased" worldview.
Unfortunately, that is exactly what has happen over recent years.
Isolated, under seige, and despised by it's neighbors and despising its neighbors in return, Israel's attitude toward Arabs is understandable...but wrong!
And for BOTH Israel and the US to adopt this paranoid mindset is to put the entire region on a course for disaster.
It really behooves other nations like England, France, and Germany and even Russia and China to offer the US a "roadmap" out of it's dependence on Israel and their proxies, like the Neocons, for it's "world view" of Muslims and and the middle east...
What's happening in Lebanon today is the product of a "bunker mindset" that Israel has been developing for a long time...
Firstly, Israel refuses to level with the international community about it's real goals on the West Bank and Gaza...so it keeps constructing these "paranoid" delusions about its "enemies" to hide its real agenda for the Palestinians' occupied territories.
And sometimes, like this week.
THOSE DELUSIONS LASH OUT...WITH DISASTEROUS CONSEQUENCES FOR EVERYONE...
ISRAEL NEEDS A "TWELVE STEP" PROGRAM BACK TO POLITICAL SANITY...AND AWAY FROM IT'S POLITICS OF PARANOIA...
SOME "TOUGH LOVE" BY THE US, ENGLAND AND OTHERS...COULD SAVE US ALL A LOT MORE TROUBLE IN THE FUTURE... AND TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE...
