The notion of Sunni Muslims "supporting" Zionists and Neocons against the Shia...and visa versa, is being floated as a possible "New" Neocon strategy in the middle east...
I guess we can forget about Neocon "democratization" for now...? Definitely!
But, will this new "divide to conquer" tactic work?
Probably not. The hatred of most Muslims for Israel and the US is way too strong...especially now...after all that has happen.
The divisions within Islam are important... But attacking Americans and Zionists will still be the major focus of Islamists everywhere for the duration of the present conflict.
The one unifying factor in Islam today is their contempt for Zionists, in particular, and The West, in general.
So, is the "goal" of Israel and the US to RE-START THE CIVIL WAR IN LEBANON?
That would appear to be the most logical result of the recent controversial "policy decisions" of Dubya & Co...
Perhaps, that is really what Condi is up to...?
The operative Neocon tactic being to "discredit" Hezbollah, and blame the Shia for the destruction of Lebanon...
So far the Lebanese people are blaming the Zionists and the US for their plight...
And Hezbollah seems to be more popular than ever...
Can the Empire of Islam unite to fight a common enemy...while still being divided about which group are the "true" Muslims...
Probably...
At this late date, I don't see any Muslim Nation supporting the actions of Israel and the US in the region...
After all, the Americans fought with Stalin to defeat Germany...
Wars make strange bedfollows... But when the Muslims are not fighting Israel or the US...I would expect them to continue fighting among themselves...as they have for Centuries...
Never underestimate the power of an "external enemy" to create unity within a culture...
Just ask Bush and the Neocons about how they used 911 to that end!
