Iran has a good argument that it has a right to have nuclear power...and that's why China and Russia will not vote to put the Arab and Muslim nations into a "technological ghetto" with regard to nuclear power and development...as the US and Israel would like to do.
Yes, the Muslims "may" develop a bomb...but they also may not. And given the brutality of Israel in Lebanon recently...the notion of a deterrent for Muslim nations is stronger than ever.
Surely Israel and the US can not use the Zionist conduct of the recent war in Lebanon as evidence that the Muslims "don't need" to defend themselves, or otherwise deter disproporationate aggression against them.
Indeed, the best "proof" that Iran must prepare to defend itself is Israel's insane bombing of Lebanon.
I'm sorry but that is simply the truth-- and no amount of spin can change things now.
