But the thrift stores always seem to have crowed parking lots! Even a few Navigators and Hummers in there! Of course buying gas for a Hummer would send anyone to the thrift shop!
Or maybe it's just bored millionaires looking for unique items...something you can't find in this season's fall catalogs...?
Or perhaps "early retirees" looking for stuff to sell on Ebay to "buy their pills?"
Bottom Line: It's all over for the American Consumer in fly-over-country...but I suppose they were never the ones Wall Street relied on for the hype.
But now perhaps it's the demise of the better off consumer that we have to worry about...those who'se McMansion has just gone into "negative equity?"
The real story on the real estate collapse has yet to be told... In many areas demand has all but dryed up. Even if "optimistic" listings are still coming in...probably from sellers who need the money for credit card debt.
Oddly even today's inevitable NEW HIGH ON THE DOW seems to be "proof" that the country is moving in the wrong direction and has been for many years under the Republican/Wall Street looters.
