The first thing the Democrats should do IN THE NEW CONGRESS is START TAXING THE RICH!
This notion of abolishing the BILLIONIAIRE ESTATE TAX should be scraped immediately!
Any estate over two billion dollars should be subject to a 30% tax ASAP... I think that will rule out any "family farmers" that the Republicans like to tout when they push this to the "stupids" in their "base"...
Any manufactured goods coming into the US from cheap labor nations like China and India and Mexico should have an added tariff of 5% TO ESTABLISH SINGLE PAYER NATIONAL HEALTH CARE FOR ALL AMERICANS...
IF YOU WANT TO PLAY...YOU GOTTA PAY! THE FREE RIDE FOR MULTI-NATIONALS, BANKS AND INSURANCE COMPANIES NEEDS TO STOP NOW!

Social Security needs a supplemental tax on high income individuals...to make it viable... The Kongess had no problem "stealing" from the fund when it was solvent...they should have no problem funding it "over the hump" of the Baby Boomer Generation! You simply don't throw Granny into a nusing home AFTER YOU'VE STOLEN ALL HER MONEY...!! AND THEN CLAIM SHE'S "BROKE!"
And Social Security needs to be means tested so that those with passive incomes above $100,000 do NOT TAKE MONEY FROM THE TRUST FUND! The means test should be phased in and graduated...by income.
The defence budget...which feeds the greed of multi-nationals and the rich...needs to be cut drastically! We are no longer facing conventional military threats like in the 20th Century... But something TOTALLY DIFFERENT... And we are funding THE WRONG MILITARY FOR THE 21st CENTURY...
NEED PROOF? LOOK AT IRAQ TODAY...OR AFHGANISTAN! THESE WARS ARE LOST! AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT... YET THE DEFENCE BUDGET IS SOARING FOR BATTLE SHIPS AND MORE NUKES!
No we can not "bring back the factories" but we can make fairness to American Workers a top priority... National Health Care now! A living wage minimum wage now! Gauranteed retirements with dignity for those over 65 who don't want to work or can't work...and also for the disabled...
More subsidies to higher education is needed...and less reliance on tuition hikes to pay costs.
