The Battle for Baghdad is really a Sunni vs Shia affair...with both sides seeking assistance from the US as suits their needs...
If Bush believes the Green Zone Shia Government will ever accept Sunnis in Baghdad he is mistaken...
Baghdad has deep religious significance for Muslims generally...being the Second City of Islam...with a history that goes back even to the beginnings of civilization but later to the foundation of Islam in the middle east.
Curiously the Americans WILL BE ATTACKED by both sides! If it is percieve that the US is going against the interests of either side... So one day Sunnis could be killing Americans...the next day Shia could be killing Americans... And indeed, on some days BOTH Sunnis and Shia will be killing Americans simulateously....
NONE OF THIS IS GOOD IF YOU ARE AN AMERICAN IN UNIFORM IN BAGHDAD!
What Bush and the Neocon/Likudnics have not realized is that THIS IS NOT THEIR FIGHT ANYMORE... Yes the Americans can bomb buildings...but that can not subdue an entire population that does not accept them or their way of life...
Bush is out "selling" his "new plan" TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC....but what will happen in the next weeks when this "new plan" is clearly seen as failing dismally...ON THE STREETS OF BAGHDAD?
BUSH IS ABOUT TO EXPERIENCE THE ULTIMATE POLITICAL AND MILITARY "MORNING AFTER!"
