And to give Sadr's guys a chance to blend in and hide their weapons... Maliki spent years in Iran as part of an exiled Shia religious party... A Crackdown on Shias in support of Americans and the occupation...? Oh Pleaseee! How stupid can Bush get!
Additionally, the actions by the Greenzonians today clearly indicate they want "big guns" like the Americans have to fight their war with the Sunnis of the middle east... But if the Americans give the Iraqi Shia "big guns" what's to stop them from moving in to "liberate" the Shia in Saudi Arabia...?
