I said that 109,000 jobs were "created" in March...that's my story and I'm sticking to it...
But there are some underlying problems... I really don't see a big up side surprise... I mean the garden centers are hiring...but damn not that many people!
I see a lot of empty commercial buildings in America today. I've just got back from the west...including Phoenix, Vegas, Salt Lake, and Denver and the amount of emtpy buildings is noticable...
Everyone knows that the big box stores are lowering wages and firing people...
There are still some strong wage earners in government, schools, transportation, sales and beer and wine distribution... But other than drinking and getting a government check...everyone else is questionable.
Any IT that can be done in India is being done in India...or soon will be....they work while we sleep...want could be better... Wake up in the morning and Mr Gupta has your project done!
Anyway... There could be a startlingly low jobs number coming this month... Perhaps around 34,000 to 55,000 seems about right...
A lot of the old fudge factors have been used up...and the numbers have seemed so fake lately...that the government bean-counters could be getting cold feet...
If the "seasonal" factors are out of wack...because this is really not a normal spring in the economy...a big down number could be in the offing... 30,000 to 50,000...
