Pass the bill... But the insurance companies...and the politicians who took the Insurance Lobby's bribes...will be on probation to the voters...
If this plan doesn't work...we'll know immediately...and those who opposed the public option will be punished..at the polls.
I can even see political ads saying: This person opposed the public option...and took the bribes from the Insurance Lobby...and angry voters will be very responsive to that!
Of course...doing "nothing" was never an option... So this is an Experiment...to see if the Insurance Industry can "be good." If not...then we go back and do it right next time... Remember we are no way out of the woods on the depression...
Please remember...we only "missed" the public option by a few votes...because the Senate is the most UnDemocratic branch of government...giving the smallest states huge power...
Those who "gave us" this mess...the "Small State" Blue Dogs... will have a lot of explaining to do...
And naturally...Republicans are just beyond the pale at this point... They live in an alternative universe that few ordinary people can understand...
And a few of them may be wearing the "Mantle of Rick Santorum" after the next election cycle...
