It is disturbing the number of elite Westerized Muslims who seem to be going "off the deep end"....on religious matters...
As an happy atheist...I, naturally can't speak with authority on this subject ...
But I would assume that well educated people would see that religiosity is not the answer... But more like a symptom of deeper seated problems...
I suspect that there is something going on in the Muslim mindset that is causing this reaction...

It is true that Islam and Arabs have seen better days historically...
They were once great conquerors...and empire builders... I have studied them all...

And it is true that the social life of Islam is not quite as in the West...especially regarding the role of women...
But surely there is room for both view points...as long as women go along with the idea...
My hunch is that it's not a matter of Radical Islam being a police action or a war...
Its really a cry for help from a culture that seems divided within and from itself...!
