Tea Baggers are like the peasants in Old Russia... Consider:
We have the peasant mentality in America...about Obama and Health Care Reform.
Traditional peasants used to support the King or Autocrat...as their "protector" against their Lord...on whose land they were forced to work... Russian serfs loved the Czar...but hated their local landlord...usually someone in the petty nobility...there were hundreds of thousands of them in Old Russia
We see this in America today... Working people embrace the Wall Street elites...and vote against Progressive Reformers... In the old daze the "reformers" and "peasant lovers" where usually left swinging at the end of a rope...while the peasants watched quietly...not really caring one way or another.
When you keep an animal in a cage for a long time...sometimes the "open door" is seen as a threat...! It forces a decision...to leave into the unknown...or to stay safe and locked up...
This is why so many working and poor people are "against" health care reform...
