Obama has to be careful bout every sentence...this leads to mental filtering of every word...which looks like a "delayed" broadcast...
Any statement that can be twisted...will be twisted by Fox and others...
This effects all candidates...one "off" comment and you are finished... like the Maccaca Guy...and Kerry...who was "for it before being against it..."
All these comments are fairly explainable and innocent...yet they ended their careers...
One of the better speakers for Progressives is Howard Dean...he simply describes the idea that is in his head...and lets the words come out naturally...
I notice that when Obama "goes natural" he tends to use "black talk" cadence...and that can be a turn off to some whites...who want JFK...not MLK...to lead them...
