The problem with Republican "change" is that it is almost totally anti-middle class...
You would expect low wage small town and rural people...heavily dependent on Social Security, SSI Disability and Food Stamps...to be more Democratic...
Where the Republicans have succeeded VERY WELL...so far... is in hiding their "real agenda"...which is the continued looting by the bi-coastal well educated financial elites...from the fly over people.
Then, convincing these same "fly over people"...mostly via Fox and AM Hate Radio...just for a while around elections...that really its all about Guns, God and Gays...and being "conservative"...
Its easy for less informed people to be "conservative" because they don't have to actually defend any new ideas... They just put up the flag next to the "Get out of UN" Sign in the yard...
And listen to Fox telling them the latest "outrage" by a unionized school teacher, usually something about a student and the Bible or a Cross...
Or some "military-famliy/flag" related non-news story...a/k/a "Fox Exclusive"...
Then, suddenly along comes Paul Ryan...
And Granny finds out that "entitlements" are really a fancy Washington word for her Social Security and Medicare...and Big Daddy Bubba's disability check and his Medicaid...!
No wonder these people are confused...!
