About one third of Americans are capable of reasonable policy thinking... Another third just don't care...they are apathetic...policy is not on their radar screen...they watch ESPN not FOX...
But the bottom third are simply incapable of thinking straight...they are prisoners of hate, fear and ignorance...These are the Fox Kool Aid Drinkers...the ignorant ranters...
That means that two thirds of Americans may be opposing good policy on any issue...since apathy and ignorance are kissing cousins...
In the old daze when there were responsible networks (ie Palin's "lamestream media")...
So the top and middle thirds would go along with "right thinking" at the top of the intellectual food chain...and things worked out.
Now with Fox ... in effect...mainstreaming "Drive Time AM Hate Radio"...Rush's nonsense has gone global...
Fox has "GIVEN VOICE TO"...crackpot opinion based mostly on ignorance...and finally on hate and fear...
THE MAINSTREAMING OF HATE AND IGNORANCE IS THE WORST THING TO HAPPEN TO AMERICA SINCE THE CIVIL WAR...AND IT COULD DESTROY THE NATION...
Democracy is always on the verge of becoming Dumbacracy...
The founders called this "the mob"...that is why they limited the possible negative effects of the mob with the Electoral College and other limits on Mob Thinking....
