To disagree without being disagreeable... you need to start with the premise that information and intelligence are the foundation of the discussion...
Just ranting or spewing dogma or repeating mindless mantras...as seen on Fox and Tout TV and AM radio...completely stops rational discussion...
Additionally..."intelligence and wit" are not really entertaining to most people...who prefer things like WWF "Smackdowns" and constant action to keep their attention...
The current cable news shows and AM radio have "given a voice" to what can only be called "ignorant thinking"...and the popular "scream fest"...which is really not based on any serious analysis or academic research...
This is why Fox almost never has "serious" academics and thinkers on their programing...just the usual cast of "political actors"...who specialize in the "Art of the Rant"...Coulter, Malkin, and others.
The way ignorance is expressed in the the real world is through the rant or violent actions...or threats of violence...
Rational Thinking has almost totally been replaced by Political Cult Thinking...which often is based on hate, fear and greed... But this is to be expected in a society that is in terminal decline...
When the elites abandon the nation...as happen in America during the Wall Street Bubble and Looting Era... The Fascists will eventually take over...to fill the void.
Leadership needs to come from the top...from the elites...not from the bottom. If the elites don't care... decline is inevitable...as we see with the Wall Street elites going to China and Asia today. They just don't care about America anymore... Its that simple.
When Fascism takes over...you get the insane "Gutter Thinking"... which we see all over America today.
