To win a candidate needs to be the better perceived choice... Even the lesser of two evils...!!
Right now Obama is running against himself and his 2008 promises... Obama can't win a race against himself...his public image is far too strong for that...!
But in a few months Obama will be running against a real Republican...and likely one with very kooky ideas...and a slavish devotion to tax cuts for the bloated rich.
The Republican can't win with : BUT I'M NOT HIM...!!
Optimism wins...But all Republicans offer is existential gloom and doom...spiced up with an insane hatred for Obama...
And a rather slavish devotion to taxes cuts and Bush policies...which people have not forgot about yet.
