There is a certain kind of criminal that is very "charismatic"....
These people are "not like us"...the average person has a lot of Super Ego Baggage that keeps them in place...and restricted ... And when an average "Super Ego Burdened" person meets one of these "Charismatics" ....they can be blown away by them...!
These are those women who "fall in love" with men already in jail... There is a mystique to the "Criminal" that is very disengaging...
Now...most criminals are very very stupid and unappealing...but there is that 1 in 10,000...likely raised in a highly manipulative social environment...(totally unlike what "normal" people are raised in)...
Who learn the "Fine Art of Manipulation" at an early age...who know how to get out of people what they want...often they are fairly attractive and learn to use this to their advantage... Often they learn this "behavior" at home from parents who are in a manipulative lifestyle...prostitution, drug dealing, crackpot preachers, etc...
That is why the serial killer is so hard to catch...
The psychopath and the sociopath are a special kind of criminal...they have no concept of the humanity of other people, their victims...
In that sense they are very much like the CEO...Lawyer...Preacher...or other person who gets what they want...and cares little for the consequences to other people
