Americans shop 24/7/365...
Its not like the old daze where you'd throw Ma and the Kids in the back of the wagon and go to town for the annual shopping spree... Or go "downtown" for the Santa at the department store ala a 1940's "The Christmas Story"
Black Friday is now a holy day of obligation...where we honor some subconscieous historic event that doesn't really mean anything...but we do it anyway... Sort of like the Turkey on Thanksgiving, the pumpkin at Halloween... Or the weekly Saturday night bath before church on Sunday...
Its a Tradition...whose underlying meaning has been lost...
But we continue doing it: "Just because"...
