Euroland is plunging into a deep double dip now (a/k/a Depression)...because they cut spending to save the Euro...supposedly... The Euro Scheme...essentially took Keynesian economics off the table for Euroland...and now we see the results...
The bigger issue for Euroland and the US...is the movement to Asia of most production... Germany is hanging onto factories because of their reputation for precision manufacturing...
But the real issue of cheap labor in Asia...has not been confronted by anyone in the west...
The notion that China was going to make "cheap stuff"...like plastic beach pails for kids...and we were going to do the "hard stuff" is now debunked...
Although you still hear that line of nonsense from American politicians...
And the notion that "we are smarter than them"...is obviously nonsense...given the number of engineers India and China produce every year...
The last bit of baloney being floated is that we are "more creative" than them...
