Walmart benefits most from International Capitals ability to off shore production to low wage nations...
90% of the shelf space in Walmart has foreign made goods for sale...
In the smaller towns where Walmart is dominant...the small family owned businesses go out of business quickly...
In the smaller towns where Walmart operates...almost all of the cash register is taken out of town THAT SAME EVENING... Less some wages for the employees...
And the so called "greeter"...who is really a "door guard"....that prevents people from walking out with items unpaid for... These are usually "kindly old ladies"...which is better than armed security guards...
Yes...there are some "local suppiers"...but not many...Walmart operates on a massive scale...
Walmart gives good value to rural customers who did not have it in the past...but it also sucks money and jobs out of the local economy and sends these to Wall Street then to China...almost immediately
Net Net Walmart is a negative for small town economies...
So how have we "made it" so far...?
With Bubble Economies...mainly in housing...but also in stocks...
And with Government Checks to rural areas...in the form of ag subsidies...Social Security and Welfare checks...
Take those away...as Romney wants to do...and Walmart will suffer...
