1. America was the dumping ground for criminals and misfits from England and Europe...after the Revolution the Brits were forced to open up Botany Bay in Australia to find another place to dump their criminal element...
2. The founders distrusted democracy and the people...hence the electoral college...which rules us to this day...
3. Most of the founders were well read men of the Enlightenment...and many were secretly atheists...and only maintained the appearance of believers to satisfy the less educated people...
4. Washington was chosen to lead the army because he was the tallest man in the room 6"2'...and he had a tendency to appear at their meetings in fancy military uniforms...only based on his brief service to England during their war with the French in America 20 years before independence...
5. Washington was our first celebrity... People would walk up to his residences while in the towns... and look in the windows to see him...
6. Manhattan was traded to England by the Dutch in exchange for getting the English out of one spice island in the South China Sea... The Brits claiming a small island called "Run"...because Drake may have landed there 100 years earlier... The Dutch wanted the Brits out of the Spice Islands totally...and gave them Manhattan to get it done... After that the Brits move their operation to India...and that made an Empire for them.
7. The American Revolution was a side show for King George... England was in a big fight for control of India...against the French...to get control of Calcutta... India was big money for the English..The US colonies were money pits for England...they did not make a profit and were a drain on the Exchequer...
8. California was settled long before New England...by the Spanish.
9. The US Constitution is really only a common "Corporate Charter"...as drafted for enterprises at that time...and even today... It was NOT some revelation...just a standard form legal document... At that time exploration was done by "companies"...with share holders...Like the East India Company...which was founded in 1600 long before the Pilgrims landed in the US...
10. Columbus's "discovery" of America was a big failure... Later discoverers found the REAL WAY to the East Indies around the "Cape" or the "Horn"...and those were the important routes to India and the East Indies in the 1600's... Although "America" did pay off later with the looting of the Aztec Empire by Spain...
