The freshman class in a US medical school...may be 200+ students...TOPS
In Manila or India the freshman class can be 2000 students... Why...
American schools teach by "clinical" learning...actually going out and seeing patients early on...lots of patient contract...which could be a waste of time as far as learning about diseases... Because now we have photography and videos...to show what the patients are suffering from..
But it was the old way of training doctors...pre-photography... and we never got away from it... US Medical training is set up very much as it was in the 19th Century...
In foreign schools it is mostly "book learning"...with little patient contact... Thats why you have so many foreign doctors in the US...there are just more of them being trained in foreign med schools...
