One of the more curious aspects of American Politics is the idea that the Democrats "don't know what the problems are." Or don't "have a position."
The real problem is that certain progressive positions are NOT ALLOWED to be discussed...and of course these positions are those that "help the working and middle classes."
The working and middle classes in America are not big contributors to the political process...in cash terms...of course they are asked to vote but beyond that they do not have a seat inside the halls of power...
As a result the job of politicians is to come up with "issues" that favor the rich and the political class...by distracting the working and middle classes from their own interests...
As a result the American electorate is forced to listen to debates about nonsense like gay marriage, flag burning, official English, and immigration and civil rights...while the elites continue looting the economy and refusing to discuss key issues like the trade deficit, health care costs, and low wage jobs...
NOW NOTE WELL IT IS NOT BECAUSE DEMOCRATS DON'T KNOW ABOUT THESE ISSUES...IT IS JUST THAT THE CONTROLLING ELITES DON'T WANT THESE ISSUES DISCUSSED...
Anyone who violates the unwritten rules on what is discussible...like say, Ross Perot, Mr Nader or Mr. Dean...are branded as "nut cases" by the controlled media...and their issues are never even discussed.
ANY DEMOCRAT THAT CROSSES BIG PHARMA WILL BE DOOMED TO DEFEAT...THIS, DESPITE THE NEED FOR NATIONAL HEALTH CARE...THE ABSENCE OF WHICH IS CHEWING UP THE AMERICAN ECONOMY EVERYDAY...
Anyone watching American "talking heads" is or should be amazed at the total lack of real issues discussed...even though the real issues are very well known by everyone...
ALL OF THE KEY ISSUES ARE BEING MASSIVELY IGNORED NOW...THE DEFICITS, THE DOLLAR, HEALTH CARE ETC...BY BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES...BOTH OF WHICH ARE BEHOLDEN TO ELITE MONEY TO SURVIVE...
SO, EVERYDAY IT BECOMES MORE AND MORE ESSENTIAL TO FIND SOME DISTRACTING WEDGE ISSUE TO CONFUSE THE PUBLIC EVEN MORE...
HENCE THE "DEMOCRATIC DILEMMA" OF "NOT BEING ORGANIZED" OR "NOT HAVING A POSITION."
THE TRUTH IS THAT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY DOES HAVE A "POSITION" ON THE LIBERAL AND PROGRESSIVE AGENDA...BUT THE WALL STREET AND MEDIA ELITES WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO DISCUSS IT...ON FEAR OF BEING BRANDED AS "SOFT" "RADICAL" OR "PLAYING THE CLASS CARD."
Amazingly this leaves Demcrats trying to be Republican Lite on the talk shows...and they thus appear weak, confused, vacillating and as flip-floppers...
The Republican NIGHTMARE SCENARIO is that their middle and working classs contituencies, the so called Bubba and Suburban Republicans, FINALLY DO WAKE UP, and realize the true nature of the disaster that has befallen in the nation...under Republican Lies and Looting.
