On the Sunday talks it became apparent that the Republicans are desperately attempting to hold on to two key contituencies...
1. The Fat & Stupid Americans: These are the Bubba Republicans in Rural Areas.
2. The White & Married Americans: These are the Suburban types who are probably still working, still have health care, and can afford to be "concerned" about bogus wedge issues, like abortion, gays and "national morals."
There is a third Republican contituency; the one that really runs the Republican Party and that is the Wall Street Rich...
The Wall Street elites have essentially run the government as an extension of their corporate boardrooms.
The US economy has been literally looted to the bone... There is almost nothing left to steal...and most of what IS left is grossly over-priced because of a weak dollar...and the resulting bubble pricing levels.
Curiously, BOTH the Fat & Stupid, and the White & Married, contituencies have a very, very hard time making the "switch" to the Democratic Party...
For most of these people being "Republican" is engrained as part of who they are...
The very notion of being "for" a party that tolerates blacks and gays...and supports "liberal" policies...is abhorent to these people.
Nevermind, that a dose of liberalism would stop the economic looting and in the long run restore the Clinton Prosperity, wherein wealth WAS modestly re-distributed from the very top to the middle and bottom...which is necessary in a modern consumer capitalist system.
Nevermind, that the health care debacle is a cancer on the job market; and is forcing companies to go overseas...to seek ANY relief from the insurance companies and big Pharma that dominate the Republican party.
It is amazing how MOST of the commercials Americans see on their TVs these days are from BIG PHARMA Drug Companies advertizing their latest prescription drug...which consumers can not buy without a doctor's OK and 'script!! And many of these drugs are actually UNSAFE to take...but that is only brought out later...when the deaths become statistically significant!
Nevermind, that it is the children of the Rural Fat & Stupid who are fighting in Iraq... While the Republican rich take their war profits to invest in China and India.
SO, THE ONLY HOPE FOR REPUBLICANS IS TO KEEP THEIR BIG LIE MACHINE GOING... THROUGH THE LIKES OF ROVE, CHENEY AND FOX NEWS...
BECAUSE THERE ARE LIES, BIG LIES AND REPUBLICAN LIES...
AND REPUBLICANS ARE VERY, VERY GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO...
...WHICH IS MOSTING LYING ABOUT AND LOOTING THE US ECONOMY...WHILE COMING UP WITH EVER ODDER WEDGE ISSUES TO DIVERT ATTENTION FROM THEIR REAL PURPOSES...
