Can you be arrested for saying that Osama is not the problem?
Oh Well.....
Here's what I mean:
Clearly, by always focusing on ONE MAN, (Osama, Saddam, etal), US
foreign policy is rather SIMPLISTIC. And, of course, everyone sees
this, but it appears that having an "evil one" is necessary for
getting public support.
Still, we should never confuse public show for real policy.
HERE'S WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO "TAKE THE BARRIERS DOWN" IN WASHINGTON
AND NEW YORK.
FIRST, THE NEW PRESIDENT, PROBABLY KERRY, MUST TELL SHARON AND HIS
LIKUDNICS THAT THEY HAVE TO GET REAL ABOUT THE WEST BANK AND THE
TEMPLE MOUNT. This new "Tough Love for Israel" policy will pay
immediate benefits to the US economy and to our geo-political
situation.
SECOND, THE NEW PRESIDENT MUST CONVENE A GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON THE
ROLE OF ISLAM IN THE WORLD. I KNOW THIS SOUNDS NUTS, BUT THESE ARE
NUTTY TIMES, AND ANY NEW IDEA SHOULD BE WELCOMED. I too agree that
Islam needs a period of "Enlightenment," like we Christians had
between say 1500 and 1900. This will not be easy, but it's far
better to "enlighten" people through discussion, than at the point of
a gun, or with Dubya's stupid "smart bombs!" Which clearly aren't
working, and are probably making things even worse!
Now, we may face great resistance from the "religious fanatics" on
all sides. CHRISTAIN, JEW AND MUSLIM. BUT THAT IS WHERE THE "FORCE"
SHOULD BE APPLIED! ON THOSE WHO ARE DIVIDING THE WORLD INTO
NONSENSICAL "WARING CAMPS."
THIRD, THE NEW PRESIDENT MUST BE AN HONEST BROKER AGAIN TO RESTORE
AMERICAN CREDIBILTY IN THE WORLD. Clearly, there is more to being
a "super-power" than the ability to "bomb at will." We are seeing
this everyday now in Iraq and Afganhistan.
THE US ABSOLUTELY MUST BECOME THE FOCAL POINT AND CENTER FOR
REASONABLE DISCUSSION AND INTELLIGENT THINKING.
CLEARLY, OUR "INTELLIGENCE" UNDER DUBYA HAS SUFFERED IN MORE WAYS
THAN ONE! AND THAT INCLUDES THE SAD FACT THAT DUBYA IS LOOKED AT
GLOBALLY AS "A STUPID MAN." AND NO! I DID GET THAT FROM AN ISLAMIC
WEB SITE, I GOT IT FROM LENO AND LETTERMAN!
IN SHORT, REASON AND INTELLIENCE SIMPLY MUST PREVAIL, TOO MUCH IS
RIDING ON THIS OUTCOME. BUT, CAN THE US BECOME THE BEACON OF REASON
AND FAIRNESS WITH THE US RELIGIOUS RIGHT STILL POUNDING THE DRUMS FOR
HOLY WAR, AND RACISM AND NATIVISM AND HATE?
SOMEHOW THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT IN THE US, ISRAEL AND IN ISLAM ARE GOING
TO HAVE TO BE BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL.
AND THE MEDIA AND POLITICAL ELITES HAVE THE DUTY TO START WORK ON
THIS "NEW AGENDA" ASAP!
Time is short; and too much media damage has already been done,
by "enabling" the WORLD'S RELIGIOUS FANATICS. Too many politicians
like Sharon and Dubya and Sadr and others have been fanning the
flames of hatred for their own politican gain! This must stop now, it's just too dangerous.
IT'S TIME TO "TURN THE CORNER" AND START BRINGING THESE TRULY
DANGEROUS PEOPLE AND POLITICANS UNDER CONTROL, AND EXPOSE THEM OPENLY
FOR THE FOOLS THAT THEY TRULY ARE.
