Shouldn't the Republican Party be a church, INSTEAD OF a political
party?
Consider:
When did things like "family values" and "private compassion" become
governmental functions? I must've missed something!
VALUES AND COMPASSION ARE THE TASK OF FAMILIES, PARENTS AND THE
CHURCH. NOT THE GOVERNMENT!
THE CHURCH AND THE FAMILY SHOULD TEACH PEOPLE TO "BE GOOD."
NOT THE PRESIDENT OR THE KONGRESS......Where did we go "off track"
here?
THE REAL FUNCTION OF MODERN GOVERNMENT IS TO FACILIATE COMMERCE,
PROVIDE FOR DEFENSE, AND CARE FOR THE NEEDY WHO CAN NOT CARE FOR
THEMSELVES, AND PROTECT THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE.
WHEN DID RELIGION AND VALUES GO INTO THE CIVILS BOOKS? Or become a
political science course at The University? I missed it.....somehow.
Politicans are never the best moral leaders.....we know this for
sure.
So, what's up with the Republicans trying to become:
THE ESTABLISHED CHURCH OF AMERICA?
What about Muslims and Jews and Buddhists; and us poor misguided
agnostics!
Where do we fit in? Or don't we.......
THE BEAUTY OF THE REPUBLICAN "COMPASSION" AND "VALUES" IS THAT IT'S
ALL DONE ON THE CHEAP!
CONSITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS ARE FREE. THEY DON'T COST ANYTHING.
WHICH MEANS THAT THE RICH CAN KEEP THEIR TAX CUTS IF DUBYA AND
CHENY "PULL IT OFF" IN NOVEMBER!
Postscript: Yesterday was Compassion Day at the Covention.
The Bush Twins, (apparently not puppets) were perky, and flippant.
They did a SNL routine, that only lacked for having Jimmy Fallon
interviewing "Drunk Girl."
Arnie told us how successful HE is. I'm so happy for HIM.
And, Laura addressed America's Stepford Wives.
MEANWHILE, OUT IN THE REAL WORLD, BOMBS WERE GOING OFF SEEMINGLY ALL
OVER THE PLACE;
WHY?
BECAUSE DUBYA & CO. CHOOSE THEIR "OPTION" TO COMPETELY DE-STABILIZE
THE WORLD..........!
BUT, AT LEAST, THEY DID IT WITH REPUBLICAN COMPASSION
