Was the recent Republican "win" a Rebel Yell, or a Primal Scream?
Probably, both!
In the South, the Republicans are the New Rebel Yell. The old South
never forgave the Republicans for Reconstruction, and they never
forgave the Democrats for Civil Rights.
But, what about the "Great American Heartland?" Bubba Nation. The
Redneck States? Well, there it's a little different.
In the Heartland, the Republicans are practicing a sort of PRIMAL
SCREAM POLITICS.
Republican Primal Scream Politics comes from the lower levels of the
Human Brain. Very likely from the "Reptilian Regions" of the Brain
Stem.
That's why it's "so damn easy for "ordinary people" to understand!"
For the New Republicans, it's all about:
FEAR! HATE! SEX! RACE! REVENGE! GREED! AND FIGHT OR FLIGHT DECISIONS!
THIS IS VERY DEEP BRAIN STEM STUFF FOLKS!
NO NEED FOR HIGHER REASONING FUNCTIONS IN THE "GREY MATTER" OF THE
CEREBRUM HERE!
Indeed, Bill Clinton hinted at this problem when he said: Kerry was
appealling to peoples hopes, not to their fears.
The Democratic Message is quite COMPLEX.
It requires the use of higher function reasoning. That's why the
Republican message is "More Understandable" to the less "enlightened"
segments of the population.
Democrats seek the "we," while Republicans only think of the "me."
Democrats think about "a higher good." Republicans only "react" from
the lower levels of the human mind; at a reptilian level really.
It takes much higher thought processes to think of "the group." And,
what is good for the group, verus what is good for only "me."
It takes higher reasoning to "conserve resourses" than to "slash and
burn" them.
Republicans want the "freedom" to shit in the woods.
Democrats say: Let's dig a lattrine, because we've all got to live
here!
MY ADVISE TO DEMOCRATS IS:
TAKE YOUR MESSAGE ON A JOURNEY "DOWN THE BRAIN STEM," IF YOU WANT TO
MAKE IT APPEALING TO THE BUBBAS OF AMERICA.
BECAUSE THIS TOUCHY-FEELY LIBERAL BULLSHIT WILL NEVER HAVE THE APPEAL
OF THE BASER REPTILIAN EMOTIONS OF REPUBLICAN "PRIMAL SCREAM"
POLITICS
FEAR! HATE! GREED! SEX! FIGHT OR FLIGHT! REVENGE!
THESE EMOTIONS WILL ALL TRUMP "REASON AND LOGIC" EVERYTIME.
SADDLY HISTORY BEARS THIS OUT. AND, YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO INTO THE
MIDDLE AGES TO SEE THIS. THE 20TH CENTURY HAS MANY GOOD EXAMPLES.
THE AMERICAN MEDIA IS GUILTY OF EXPLOITING THIS "LOWEST COMMON
