Most presidential speeches are policy statements with a few quoteable lines thrown in.
But, Dubya's speech was an amorphous mass of "quoteable lines" in search of a policy statement!
There is bad news and good news about THE SPEECH, which has been the Big Yada this week.
The bad news is that the speech is already mostly forgotten! And the good news is that the speech is already mostly forgotten!
Alas, the grim uncertainty of the Iraqi Elections loom large. If the Shia win, will they ask the "Green Zone" puppets to leave as soon as possible? Or perhaps, to come out from behind the barred wire and blast barriers and meet the people?
The crap shoot that this election provides for Dubya & Co. can not be overstated. (But don't worry I will!)
Because;
It's possible that when the dust settles on January 30, the "new government" will tell both Alawi and the US military: "Thanks, now scram!" We'll "handle it" from here. And the peace and quite that could result just from not having US Military convoys on the roads is considerable.
Or put another way, the Neocons might just need a whole New Mojo in a few days!!
And wouldn't that be interesting......? Gee, Dubya might just "have time" to tackle the Health Care Crisis after all! Ya think?
