Somehow when Democrats speak of "their faith"
it just doesn't sound right....it lacks the ring of truth..... But why? Probably because testifing about your faith just sounds better when accompanied by a southern or rural "twang." And for educated northern liberals....that's just asking to much!
Now educated southerns can pull it off....but they were raised with it....example Bill Clinton.
So what is to be done?
First;
LETS SEPERATE FAITH FROM REPUBLICAN ISSUES......
Prayer is great for those who want to pray...... And Abortion is unfortunate for those who need one.
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE 50 MILLION UNINSURED.....DOES JESUS WANT THAT?
WHAT ABOUT THE LOW MINIMUM WAGE...IS THAT IN THE BIBLE?
WHAT ABOUT ALL OF THIS MONEY WE SPEND ON WARS AND WAR MACHINES? IS THAT WHAT GOD WANTS.....?
Democrats simply must quit trying to "pull off" the "faith thing!" Unless you really are a true beleiver....or can affect a southern accent....you're doomed!
AND EXPRESSIONS OF FALSE FAITH...ARE WORST THAT NO EXPRESSION AT ALL.
GIVE IT UP!
As an agnostic.....I would never be able to pull off a speech about "My Faith." That said I think that "my metaphysics" is better than the metaphysics of the Bible any day. What could be more "mysterious" than Mr Hawkings "Black Holes!" Is there anything in the Bible more mysterious than "singularity" and "event horizons!" Of course not.....and you don't even have to "fake it" if you have a masters degree from a major university!
SO DEMOCRATS SHOULD JUST GIVE UP ON THE "RELIGION THING" AND START TALKING ABOUT THE RELIGIOUS MEANING OF THE "ISSUES THING."
After all the Bible says give unto Caesar what is Caesar's......and our current Caesar lives in the White House. So lets talk issues......and what religion says about issues.
AND FORGET THE PHONY TESTIMONIALS ABOUT YOUR "RELATIONSHIP" WITH JESUS!
RATHER, "WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?" ABOUT THE WAR. THE WAR BUDGET. THE POOR. THE MINIMUM WAGE. THE LACK OF HEALTH CARE FOR MILLIONS.
WHAT WOULD JESUS DO ABOUT SUPPORT FOR THE ELDERLY.
WHAT WOULD JESUS DO ABOUT WALL STREET SPECULATION? AFTER ALL, DID NOT JESUS DRIVE THE MONEY CHANGERS FORM THE TEMPLE!
