When someone is this far down...even sanity becomes an issue.
My hunch is that the Republicans are going to lose even worse than the polls indicate...
You simply can not have all these horrible negatives; and still expect to hold your "base."
The religous right has been given everything they asked for; yet abortion is still legal! But alas, child bearing is not an issue now because most of their kids are in Iraq and Afghanistan dying because of how mom and pop voted in 2000 and 2004.
Real issues like expensive health care, lack of insurance, lack of pensions, lack of real jobs, and tax cuts for the rich that are imploding the budget are not even being discussed. These things are just subsumed in the "wrong direction" numbers without comment...
As I have said: IT'S THE ECONOMY, MEHLMAN!!
