These numbers show what's really happening...
The number of "unemployed" (-170,000) is dropping as thousands (152,000) have quit looking for work. A few are probably taking a crack at forced "self employment" or maybe selling stuff on Ebay, etc... Yet more are re-entering the labor force AFTER their self employment dreams blow up...and they're forced to "get real" again...
Basically the American worker is being whip-sawed by global economic forces like never before...and this economic discontent is likely to be more important in "fly-over-country" than Iraq, flag burning, or homos in the coming election... But don't look for that story in the mainstream media...IT ISN'T THERE!!
