Using drones against people is not "who Obama is"...everyone knows this...just like being "anti-gay marriage" was not who he was...
But if Obama wants to be elected he needs to throw a sop to the Republicans, the Pentagon Lobby and the other wing nut crazies once in a while...
That is why he kept the Afghan War going...which everyone knows is not needed...not winnable...and not even with a defined goal...!
IT's all...just to throw a sop to the Pentagon crowd who need a "war" to seem relevant...
Even calling Afghanistan a "war" is a bit over the top...it is essentially an exercise in killing Pashtoons in the South of the country...using hated Uzbek "new comers" from the North...and using a corrupt turncoat "Pashtoon"...ie the Karzai Family as a "cover story"...in Kabul
Furthermore...the Pashtoons...who we call the Taliban are not a threat to the US....they have plenty to keep them busy in the Hindu Kush tribal regions of Pakistan...and other than objecting to the US occupation I don't recall a single Pashtoon threatening US civilians...that is strickly the job of the Islamists...who are mostly in Yemen now...
Sadly Obama needs to "keep up appearances" to placate the right leaning voters in America...and even they are against this war...so its really just the Pentagon constituency that is war mongering now...because simply "that's what those kind of people do...!"
