Advice to Booksellers on Unsold Inventory

Why Book Stores have So Much Unsold Junk?

No Bookseller intentionally stocks a "Junk Book" that wont sell...So, any Objective Book Culling by the Bookseller is almost impossible

But with Each Sale The Buyers secretly Cull your inventory, even if You Don't Realize it.

Slowly, Slowly only the less desirable books are left...
Think Reverse "Natural Selection?"

Eventually only the "Sick Puppies" are Left...

OK You add a few more, Some Sell, But Now even more "Dead Wood" Piles up...

Eventually you're over stocked and cant list anything new for lack of room...

The Books All Look OK, But They have been "Secretly" Culled by Buyers Over Many Years.

So Dumping Old Unsold Stock~No Matter How "Good" it Looks~May be the Only Way to Go.

Hoping for that "Long Tail" Sale only gets more impossible every year...

Even as your floors buckle under the weight of Your unsold Inventory...
